Artist Statement
In much of my work I focus
on the figure. Through the use of clay, I explore feelings and emotions that
are expressed though our physical body. I notice details, the way
people sit, how they move and often visualize how their bones and muscles are
working. I have an interest in the internal structure of the body and how it
works on the inside, and how a body looks a certain way on the outside. I create
rhythm and flow in each piece and an element of realness and correctness to the
form. My sculptures are snapshots of strong emotions in a 3d form.
