Artist Statement:
As an artist and designer, I have the ability to inspire and influence people in their surroundings. Graphic designers have the power to communicate and express messages through their work, and as a designer, I try to catch people’s attention without overwhelming them with overly complex design. I believe the true test of a designer is the ability to convey a message in the most simplistic way possible while still catching the attention of the viewer. This is how I approach design. Minimalist design is clear and recognizable to a large audience of people and can make a long lasting impression on those who view it. I agree with the words of Hans Hofmann, “The ability to simplify means to eliminate the unnecessary so that the necessary may speak.”
